Kix's Bio
Kix Brooks began performing and writing songs at age 12 in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. He performed in clubs and other venues throughout high school and college. Eventually he landed in Nashville, where he joined Tree Publishing Company and had songs cut by artists such as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Conlee, and Highway 101. In 1990 Brooks teamed with Ronnie Dunn to form Brooks & Dunn, who are the highest selling duo in the history of country music. They have sold more than 30 million records, have had 23 #1 hits, and have won over 80 major industry awards. Brooks & Dunn currently hold the record for number of awards won at both the ACM and the CMA Awards and continue to be a driving force in the music industry. Brooks is also the host of “American Country Countdown” which is an internationally syndicated radio program that counts down the top 40 country songs of the previous week.

No Bull - Kix Runs for His Life in Spain!
Kix Brooks has seen some bull in his day ... but never as much as this week, when he participated in the annual "Running of the Bulls" in Pamplona, Spain! Kix told radio stations he "got close" to the bulls.
"It's a very narrow street that they run down and ... they give the runners a head start," he said.
"But you can run as fast as you want and you won't outrun 'em."
For eight straight days, during the Festival of San Fermin, several thousand people run through narrow alleys in Pamplona's old town, chased by six bulls and a pack of tame steers. The annual run has been a tradition for 400 years. More than a dozen people have been killed; numerous others have been injured.
Kix says he's been wanting to do the heart-pounding run for years and almost did it in 2000, when he was vacationing in Spain with his wife and kids. He finally got his chance during this tour break, which he's spent relaxing in Europe (including Italy.)
Brooks & Dunn's Cowboy Town tour hits the road again July 13 for a show at Atlanta's Turner Field.
